I've always been fascinated by the two epics of India - Mahabharata and Ramayana. It's a combination of a powerful story of historic consequence. It powered poets, writers, philosophers, religion, politics and to some degree mythological legends.
A conversation with a friend led me to two fascinating end points --
The first is a link to a quora post, where one posits a new premise to Mahabharata as just another power struggle between the Kuru and the Panchalas. It's a fascinating read that I highly recommend.
The second is an epic creative piece on its own. Titled, Sita sings the Blues, it's a blues rendition of Ramayana combined with ethereal animation and a creative commons piece. Brilliant and inspiring.
